Mr. Robert Young "Bobby" Whipp, 53, of 4003 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, died Friday, Dec. 13, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
     He was the husband of Linda C. Lake Whipp.
Born Nov. 2, 1949, in Frederick, he was a son of Henry D. Jr. and Alma J. Young Lankin of Jefferson.
     Mr. Whipp was a 1968 graduate of Brunswick High School.
He had served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.
     He had been employed with Rentals Unlimited and was a mechanic and maintenance supervisor.
Mr. Whipp was a life member of Jefferson United Church of Christ, and had served as a trustee, with the consistory of the church and had been active with the choir of the church.
     He was a former member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Co. and Jefferson Ruritan Club.
Mr. Whipp was an avid Redskins and Yankees fan and enjoyed drag racing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Hank.
     Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are one son, Robby Whipp and wife Tracey of Knoxville; one daughter, Lesley C. Whipp of Jefferson; one brother, Ronald L. Whipp and wife Lori of Knoxville; one grandchild, Sydney Whipp; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including his nephew, Kyle Bogard of Brunswick; his mother-in-law, Drucilla Lake of Brunswick; a brother-in-law, Thomas A. Lake and wife Cyndi of Detour; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Hemp and husband Billy of Jefferson, and Andrea Vermillion and husband Skip of Brunswick.
     He also will be remembered by his daughter's fiance, Chad Bohn of Braddock Heights; friends, Bill and Becky Keeney of Point of Rocks, and Richard Bryant of Potomac.
     The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Jefferson United Church of Christ. The Rev. Guy A. Wenck, pastor, will officiate.
    
Interment will be in Reformed Cemetery, Jefferson.
