Mr. Gary L. "Boogie" Snoots, 68, of Brunswick, died
Saturday, July 3, 2004, at his home.
He was the husband for 45 years to his loving wife,
Patricia A. Moore Snoots, whom he married on July 20,
1958.
Born September 12, 1935, in Brunswick, he was the son
of the late Darrol L. Snoots and the late Dorothy
Shelton Snoots.
Gary was a member of the New York Hill United Methodist
Church in Brunswick.
He was a graduate of Brunswick High School, class of
1953. He served three years in the U.S. Army from 1958
to 1961, serving two of those years in Germany.
He retired from the B&O/CSX Railroad in 1994 after
serving for 33 years. The last 26 years, he was a
Tower Operator in Brunswick.
In the 1970s, he was a part-time school bus driver for
the Board of Education in Frederick County. He spent
many years in youth baseball in Brunswick. He served
as Manager/Coach in Little League, Babe Ruth, American
Legion and also the men's slow pitch softball league.
At the time of his death he was employed by Stauffer
Funeral Home.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1136,
AARP, Transportation and Communications Union and the
Tuesday Night Glade Valley Bowling League at Village
Lanes in Frederick.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and bowling, and
he was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
His favorite of all was spending time with his family
and his grandchildren. Gary was a very devoted
husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons,
Kevin Michael Snoots and wife Karen of Frederick,
Jeffrey Todd Snoots of Brunswick, and Gregory Allen
Snoots and wife Robin of Brunswick; two daughters,
Tracey Ann Snoots and fiancZ Donnie Darr of
Frederick and Tiffani Michelle Moore of Brunswick;
three grandchildren, Corey Michael Snoots, Tyler
Daniel Snoots and Brady Allen Snoots; two
sisters-in-law, Carol L. Brown of Morrisville, N.C.,
and Gloria J. Crowl of Jefferson; two brothers-in-law,
Fred A. Moore and Dennis E. Moore of Brunswick; and
many nieces and nephews.
He will also be remembered by his longtime friends
Helen and Diane Alger and Ronnie and Joyce Weddle.
Pallbearers will be Corey Snoots, Tyler Snoots, Dennis
Moore, Randy Brown, Robert Grams and Bill Utterbach.
Honorary Pallbearer will be his youngest grandson
Brady Snoots.
Friends may call the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N.
Maple Ave., Brunswick, on Tuesday, July 6, from 2 to 9
p.m., where the family will receive friends from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral
home on Wednesday, July 7, at 10 a.m., with the Rev.
Clark D. Carr and the Rev. Noni Sigler officiating.
Burial will be at Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
