Mr. George P. "Mickey" Orye, 58, of 10 East E St., Brunswick, died
Monday, Sept. 11, at his home.
He was the husband of Patricia Beatty Orye.
Born Aug. 15, 1942, in Brunswick, he was the son of Naomi B. Harsh Orye of Brunswick and the
late Clement D. Orye.
He was a 1961 graduate of Brunswick High School.
He was employed by J.J. Crewe and Son Inc. in Buckeystown as an electrician. He was formerly
employed for 26 years by Rotorex Co., Walkersville. He served in the U.S. Air Force with the
862nd Trans Sq. (SAC) from June 27, 1961 to June 25, 1965.
He was a member of the New York Hill United Methodist Church and a former member of First
Baptist Church, both of Brunswick. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 1136, Brunswick. He devoted
many years of coaching and volunteering to Brunswick Midget Football and Brunswick High School
football, on and off the field. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Dana M. Hall of Harpers
Ferry, W.Va.; three sons, Paul A. Orye and C.D. Orye, both of Brunswick, and Chad E. Orye of
Charleston, W.Va.; two brothers, Jerome Orye of Brunswick, and Drew Orye and wife Donna of
Pembroke, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jenna Hall, Jamie Hall, Brian Orye, Michael Orye and Troy
Orye; his mother-in-law, Rosa Beatty of Brunswick; two sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Martin and
husband George of Frederick, and Joyce Mohler and husband Wayne of Brunswick; and many nieces
and nephews.
He will also be remembered by friends Bill Muchesko, Christie, Brittany, Patty, Bonnie, Doug,
D.J., Billy and Melinda. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Marie Hall.
The family will receive friends at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road,
Brunswick, Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral home will be open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m., Thursday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home. The Rev. Daniel T. Spiker will officiate.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made
to Brunswick Ambulance Co., 200 W. Potomac St., Brunswick, Md. 21716.
