Mr. Norman Clifford Mumaw, 75, of Route 5, Harpers Ferry, W.Va., died
Sunday, May 20, at his residence.
He was the husband of Doris Jean Mumaw, his wife of 53 years.
Born Jan. 14, 1926, in Weverton, W.Va., he was a son of the late Alpha C. and Alice
Coulter Mumaw.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Mumaw retired as the owner and operator of H&M Construction Co. Inc. of Harpers
Ferry.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Harpers Ferry.
He was a past master and member of Logan Lodge 25 A.F.&A. Masons in Harpers Ferry; a
member of Scottish and York Rite of Freemasons; and Osiris Shrine Temple in Wheeling,
W.Va.; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136 of Brunswick; and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge
948 of Charles Town.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Norma
Jean Wilt and husband Richard, and Diana Bond, all of Charles Town; four sons, Norman E.
Mumaw and wife Kristine, and Keith L. Mumaw and wife Michelle, all of Charles Town, and
Jeffrey L. Mumaw, and Terry W. Mumaw and wife Monica, all of Harpers Ferry; one sister,
Anna Bonam of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, Charles Mumaw of Merritt Island, Fla., and
Luther Mumaw Sr. of Knoxville; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home
in Harpers Ferry, Tuesday, May 22, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at St. John's Episcopal Church,
Harpers Ferry, with the Rev. Jane Kempster officiating.
Interment will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
