Mr. Nicholas "Nick" "Grandpa" Grande, 90, of Knoxville, passed away
Sunday, May
2, 2010, at
the
Frederick
Memorial
Hospital. He
was the
husband of
the late
Mary Grande,
his wife of
53 years.
Born in
Rochester,
N.Y., he was
the son of
the late
Angel and
Mary Grande.
Mr.
Grande
served his
country
through most
of his life.
Starting
with CCC
Camp in his
early years
and
continued
with the
Army during
WWII and the
Korean War.
He then
finished his
duties in
civil
service. He
not only
served his
country for
22 years, he
also worked
with his
family for
12 years at
Star
Concrete
Foundations
Inc.
He is
survived by
his
daughters,
Mary Tilley
of Illinois,
Brenda
Williams of
Florida,
Fran
Cockerham of
Maryland,
Barbara
Green of
Maryland,
Debbie
Pappas of
Virginia and
Annette
Freeman of
Maryland; 17
grandchildren;
30
great-grandchildren;
one
great-great-grandchild;
and his
dearly
beloved
companion of
14 years,
Ruth
Kennedy. He
was
preceeded in
death by his
son,
Nicholas
Jr., five
brothers and
seven
sisters.
The
family will
receive
friends from
2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m.
Thursday,
May 6, at
the Stauffer
Funeral
Home, 1100
N. Maple
Ave.,
Brunswick,
where
services
will be held
at 1:30 p.m.
Friday, May
7.
Interment
will be in
Mount Olivet
Cemetery. |
