of
Rohrersville,
passed
away on
Sunday,
March 9,
2008 at
his
residence.
He
was born
Feb. 3,
1925 in
Sandy
Hook, and
was the
son of the
late
William
Frederick
Cole and
Mary Jane
Cooper
Cole.
He was a
retired
carman for
the B&O
Railroad,
with 44
years of
service.
He
was a
veteran of
the U.S.
Army,
serving in
World War
II and the
Korean
War.
He was of
the
Pentecostal
faith. He
was also a
member of
Steadman-Kennan
Post No.
96 of the
American
Legion and
the
Fraternal
Order of
Eagles
Aerie No.
1136, both
of
Brunswick.
He is
survived
by four
daughters,
Marlene
Hackley
and
husband,
Charles,
of Sandy
Hook,
Glenda
Martin and
husband,
Terry, of
Purcellville,
Va., Lisa
Hershman
and
husband,
Gary, of
Rohrersville,
and Cathy
Staubs and
husband,
Terry, of
Charles
Town,
W.Va.; one
son,
Charles
Cole and
wife,
Teresa, of
Brunswick;
eight
grandchildren;
and nine
great-grandchildren.
He
was
preceded
in death
by one
sister,
Josephine
Albert,
and three
brothers,
William
Cole,
Donald
Cole and
his twin,
Charles
Cole.
Services
will be
held at 2
p.m. on
Wednesday,
March 12,
at the
Eackles-Spencer
& Norton
Funeral
Home, U.S.
340 at
Halltown
Road,
Charles
Town/Harpers
Ferry,
W.Va.,
with
Pastor
James
Boyce
officiating.
Interment
will be in
Fairview
Lutheran
Cemetery
at Bolivar
W.Va.
The
family
will
receive
friends
from 2 to
4 and 7 to
9 p.m. on
Tuesday at
the
funeral
home.
