Mr. John W. Breeden, 81, of Jefferson, died
Sunday, March 11, 2007, at his home with his
family.
He was the husband of Gloris Dolores Barger
Breeden. They were married 57 years.
Born December 22, 1925, in Eagles, W.Va., he was
the son of the late Jobe O. Breeden and Lela C.
Simons Willard.
Mr. Breeden graduated from Brunswick High
School in 1943. He was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Jefferson. He was also a
member of the Jefferson Ruritan Club.
Mr. Breeden served in the U.S. Army during
World War II in the European Theater. He was
employed at the Litten's Chevrolet Garage in
Brunswick for 11 years as an auto mechanic. Then
he was employed at the National Institute of
Standards and Technology for 38 years. He retired
from there on June 2, 2000.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a
daughter, Jayne G. Dallas and husband Mike of
Germany; a son, John W. Breeden II and wife Karen
of Germantown; three grandchildren, Cristina,
Alexandra and Anna Dallas; three sisters, Lorraine
Layman of Frederick, Betty Smith of Jefferson and
Drucilla Lake of Brunswick; and two brothers,
Robert Breeden and wife Cathy of Brunswick and
Jobe Breeden and wife Betty of Gapland.
The family will receive friends at the
Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave.,
Brunswick, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday,
March 14.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral
home at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, with the Rev.
Sarah Andrews officiating.
Interment will be in Jefferson United Methodist
Cemetery
