Mildred Saraha Roby, 85, of Brunswick , passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, at her residence.
     She was born June 19, 1923, in Baltimore, the daughter of the late Martin Louis Bees and Elsie Eaton Bees.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Brunswick . She was a graduate of Mother Seaton High School . She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Aerie No. 1136 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Women of the Moose Chapter No. 660, both of Brunswick .
     She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the Marine Corps League.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James F. Roby, at home; one daughter, Deborah Tamburri and husband, Greg, of Frederick; two sons, James F. Roby Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Germantown, and Robert W. Roby and wife, Mary, of Centerville; one sister, Dorothy Myers of Gambrills; one grandson, Nicholas J. Perry of Frederick; two granddaughters, Jennifer Jeffcoat of Branden, Fla., and Dana Tamburri of Frederick.
     She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Frances Roby; one brother, John Bees; and one sister, Agnes Harris.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at St. Francis of Assisi Church , Brunswick . The Rev. Fr. George A. Limmer will serve as celebrant. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, in Arlington National Cemetery .
     The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road , Brunswick . A Christian wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. For the convenience of the friends, the funeral home will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
