Briefly What Happened Since Leaving School I went to work at Litten Chevrolet. I was the “corvair” mechanic. I was the youngest mechanic and no one else wanted the job. Then in 1970 I enlisted in the Navy. After boot camp I was married to Linda Whorley. I went to “Radioman School” and was stationed at the Naval Communications Station in Washington D.C. Was discharged in 1974 and enlisted in the Army Reserves, 558 Signal Company in Frederick, for two years. After getting out of the Navy I went to work at Standard Building System in Point of Rocks. In 1976 I went to work on the Chessie System Railroad as a brakeman on the Cumberland Division. During this time we had three boys, Dave, Bill, and Jason. Then in 1979 I went to work for the Virginia Dept. of Transportation in Leesburg, Verginia. I am the Residency Business Manager for VDOT in Loudoun County. I have been with VDOT for 27 years. And we now have six grandchildren, Aaron, Will, Andy, Lydia, Linzie and Cynthya. In 1993 we bought a house outside Boonsboro but I will always be a Railroader |
