Briefly What Happened Since Leaving School Betty and Les have been married for 40 years. After about a year of marriage, Les joined the U.S. Marine Corp and was stated in Beaufort. Betty left her job at the Atomic Energy Commission to join Les in Beaufort and worked for the First Federal Savings and Loan Association during their time there. After Les's discharge from the USMC, their first daughter was born. Betty then went back to her job at the Atomic Energy Commission, which eventually became the Department of Energy, where she worked until a second daughter was born twelve years later. Then three years later they had another daughter. During Betty's childbearing and child-raising years, she was very busy with three active and very successful girls. In addition, to the children, Les's working, going to college, getting his degree, etc. they bought a 100-year-old house which remains an on-going home improvement project and which neither of them really believe will ever get it finished. Les and Betty started their own computer consulting business in 1985. Both Betty and Les work diligently at keeping the Corporation running in these changing and challenging times. Several of Betty and Les' favorite things other than their children and home, of course, are travel times. They really enjoy cruising in the Caribbean, and especially love the Island of Aruba. |
