Served as Combat Group Leader of Chinese Guerrillas and U. S. Marines working for nineteen months behind the Japanese lines in China under the command of Rear Admiral Milton E. Miles.  Placed on inactive Reserve January 13, 1946.  Still a Permanent Captain in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve.
